They have a greater capacity for abstract reasoning, which gives them an advantage when constructing concepts and resolving problems. Bilingual children also find it easier to learn new languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\">Bilingualism encourages <strong>openness to others.<\/strong> The result of this is that children will be better prepared for life in a multi-cultural society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\">At <em>La<\/em> Canop\u00e9e, two teachers share lessons equally, expressing themselves in their first language. This strict separation according to the rule \u2018one teacher, one language\u2019 allows a structured learning approach. This immersion, solely in one language at a given time, imitates the natural conditions for first language learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\">New students who are not bilingual&nbsp;will&nbsp;participate in extra-curricular activities on Wednesday afternoons as long as is necessary, in order to aid their integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\">For some classes, children will be divided according to their ability in each language.
